Apparently adults who are more grateful and thankful have more energy more optimism more social connections more happiness than those who don’t. And they’re less likely to be depressed envious greedy or alcoholics. They are more likely to earn more money sleep more soundly exercise more regularly and have greater resistence to viral infections.

That’s all from feeling and acting grateful.

Grateful kids tend to be less materialistic get better grades set higher goals complain of fewer headaches and stomach aches feel more satisfied with their friends and families and schools.

Assistant Professor Jeffrey Froh from the Hofstra University in New York and Professor Robert Emmons of the University of California are psychology researchers in this area.

The realisation that we have benefited in ways that we should be grateful for also comes with awareness of the need to reciprocate and give something back.
