This Committee meets approximately monthly (usually 3rd Tuesday) for 2 hours at the North West Community Health Centre in Keperra. It is part of the Metro North Health Service District.
Its mission is to provide a forum that:
[ul]encourages community participation in health issues and service planning
ensures that all sections of the community are represented.[/ul]
Its terms of reference are:
[ol]Facilitate community consultation in service planning and delivery including engaging people from diverse backgrounds.
Provide and seek information about local community issues that may be affecting their health and well-being.
Receive timely information from the Metro North Health Service District (MNHSD) about significant developments and initiatives affecting the Community Health Centre.
Represent the views of the community in the ongoing development of services provided at the Community Health Centre.
Advise and make recommendations to the Metro North Health Service District’s Primary and Community Health Services (NP&CHS)in respect of decisions about the community.
Advise and make recommendations to the The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) Health Community Council.
Participate in the development of local strategic service plans including needs assessment and service planning developments.
Assist the NP &CHS and Health Community Council in ensuring services take account of local needs.
Provide and receive regular briefings to and from the Health Community Council in relation to relevant health policy issues.
Generally promote the work of the Centre through activities such as appropriate fund raising opportunities.[/ol]
