Apparently Ferny Grove Station is either the busiest or one of the busiest stations (maybe competing only with Brunswick St) apart from the CBD.
We asked the Queensland Transport staff who were answering questions on the Precinct development proposals how many people use Ferny Grove Station each weekday.
They did not provide an answer. We should get this information which should be readily available from Queensland Rail. Queensland Rail does ‘Quarterly Passenger Surveys’.
Interestingly Translink has also done Number Plate Surveys for cars parking at the Ferny Grove Station linking them back through licence records so they know which suburbs the people parking at the station are coming from. We should be able to get this information.
People were concerned that with more buildings it would attract more need for parking so the figures started to raise more and more questions.
