Drinking lots of water straight from the tap doesn’t work for me.

In order to get the two glasses of water I’ve been emptying the boiled water from the jug into another jug to cool down after boiling it for a cuppa.

That also should sterilise it. I did hear a nasty story about a lethal lung disease that could be caught from something in our water. Does anyone know if there is any truth in that story?

The other thing I have heard about drinking water before meals is to do it half an hour before the meal. It means your tummy isn’t full of water when you eat diluting the digestive juices which are needed to digest your food. Better still if you drink it half an hour before it helps make digestive juices so you are prepared when you eat.

Water also helps stop dehydration from eating dry foods that take water out of the body to hydrate them for digestion and absorption into the body.
