Battersby’s Bulletin February 2012 lists 7 things the Moreton Bay Regional Council wants the Queensland Government to deal with:

1. We seek greater autonomy in service delivery with minimal interference.

2. Return of a $100m subsidy per year for sewerage plant projects to water entities because of high environmental costs and to reduce costs to ratepayers.

3. To develop a population strategy within 18 months of the elections. (YES!!!)

4. To ensure Councilors have a determining role in the development assessment process.

5. To revisit the South East Queensland water supply reforms so that consumers might gain monetary relief from the mounting water costs.

6. That Queensland Government pays for infrastructure external to State Schools as currently Councils asked to pay for or contribute to school car parks bus bays & drop off facilities as a cost to ratepayers.
