FORUM DELEGATES ANNOUNCED

Ferny Grove QLD 9 April 2013– Member for Ferny Grove Dale Shuttleworth today announced the three local delegates that will represent the electorate through the Queensland Plan process.

Beginning with an electorate wide survey in March Queensland Plan activities are continuing in the Ferny Grove community with the first Our Community Your Voice forum on April 20th to be held at the Ferny Grove State High School.

“I am very pleased to welcome Ferny Grove State School Principal Brett Shackleton Anne Tennock from Transition the Grove & Michael Hawkins a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors as our community delegates” Mr Shuttleworth said

“Our community will be well represented with our delegates having experience in area such as business public service community advocacy and education”

“The forum on April 20 will be our communities chance to meet the delegates before they attend the first state conference in May.” Mr Shuttleworth said

Mr Shuttleworth said The Queensland Plan is a collaborative process that will involve the community industry and all levels of government to set a 30 year vision for the state

“This will not be a State Government plan. It will be a plan created by Queenslanders for Queensland and will influence the future decision making of all levels of government industry and community groups”

Mr Shuttleworth also announced that a working group would be selected from attendees at the community forum to assist the delegates over the next 6 months as the plan is developed.

“The Ferny Grove electorate is my home and Queensland is a Great State with Great Opportunity I look forward to working with our community members in developing its future vision ” Mr Shuttleworth said.

Bios:

Anne Tennock – Active community leader involved in many community organisations at a volunteer basis and is a member of a number of other community groups as the ‘community voice’ such as the Medicare Local – Metro North Community Consultation group. Anne is also involved actively as a volunteer at local tuckshops a community radio station Catholic social welfare group in the St Williams Parish and many other areas. She is an ex-public servant with vast experience in statistics and census data.

Brett Shackleton – School Principal of the Ferny Grove State School. President of the Ferny Falcons Cricket Association married to a teacher and through his school community has a very wide-reaching involvement in the local area. Has had teaching experience at remote and indigenous areas.

Michael Hawkins – is a company director of diverse commercial experience. His roles include Executive Director of the National Association of Cinema Operators – Australasia Chair of the Australian International Movie Convention and Director of the Intellectual Property Awareness Foundation Ltd. He is also the Acting Chair of Screen Queensland and a Director of Qi Power Limited. He serves on the Foundations of the Queensland State Library and the University of Queensland Diamantina Research Institute. He was formerly CEO of Australian Multiplex Cinemas Ltd and also served for many years as an Executive Councillor of the Australian Entertainment Industry Association. He is a lawyer by training and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
