Subject: Volunteers Needed

Hi

My name is Jessica Coats. I am studying my 4th year in Town Planning at the University of Queensland and am undertaking an honours thesis. My research involves affordable adaptation to climate change for homes from low-income backgrounds.

I am introducing myself because I am in desperate need of people to interview who have incorporated 3 climate change adaptation techniques into their households (owner-occupied and detached dwelling) and who come from a low-income background in Brisbane and was wondering whether you could forward my details onto anyone within the Alternative Technology Association who you think might fit this criteria and would be interested. I have attached an information sheet explaining my project and would be truly grateful if you distributed some to your members but I am also happy to come along to any meetings or events etc. to participate and explain further.

The end result from my research will hopefully be a list of programs/ rebates that have been the most successful in the low income community and therefore the ones that need to be targeted for further funding/ awareness or greater accessibility. I am aiming to get my results published and then hopefully the process picked up and expanded to a larger study area and broader categories (ie: all of Australia not just Brisbane and renters multi-unit dwellings etc.) or my own potential PHD topic.

Thankyou for taking the time to read my request and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind Regards

Jessica Coats
