Talking with John up the road about making beer. We want to use rain water because it has the best taste but are a bit concerned about bat viruses and the like in it!!

For making beer we can’t add stuff to the water that would stop the beer yeast growing.

He suggested:
[ul]using a big pottery pipe we have to ‘strain’ it. Seal the end and fill it with water and collect the water that seeps through the surface.
Using local clay and coffee grounds as a filter apparently very effective.[/ul]
