There is a clearly notable difference between the access to Downfall Creek in the Ferny Hills / Arana Hills side of The Grove managed by Moreton Bay Regional Council and access to Kedron Brook and Cedar Creek in the Keperra / Ferny Grove / Upper Kedron side of The Grove managed by Brisbane City Council.

It looks like a difference in policy and philosophy to management of these areas.

In the MBRC area there are several delightful walks along creeks with grassed areas down to the water the babbling brooks and concrete walking / cycling tracks right along with a lot of play equipment drinking fountains seats etc right along. It makes a wonderful place for locals to use for recreation and fitness.

In the BCC area there is little opportunity to access the creeks. Their banks are mainly densely shrouded in vegetation often planted by the Bushcare groups as regeneration. For big stretches of Kedron Brook there is no walking track beside the Brook or only very uneven rough dirt tracks through dense shrubbery.

Can we have a debate about which approach is preferable? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each approach are?

Let’s at least talk about it not just have it as something that is done without consultation or discussion that we then have to live with.
