[u]Breathing – timed in/out/hold[/u]

Breathe in to a count of four.
Hold for a count of seven.
Breathe out for a count of eight.

Repeat four times.

This practices using the muscles that work to breathe out fully. Breathing out is where a lot of breathing is done incompetently. If the lungs aren’t emptied fully air is breathed in on lungs that are already partially full leading to over-breathing (hyperventilation) or not getting a full supply of fresh air.
