The severe floods in Queensland Victoria NW WA Sri Lanka Philippines and Brazil are being caused by the strongest La Nina ever recorded. While La Nina is a recognised phenomenon the sea temperatures of over 0.5degreesC above previous peaks are the climate change element driving the extreme nature of this La Nina.
