Welcome new member Leonie Moorshead. Leonie is a Keperra resident who is passionate about seeing The Grove district thrive. She is a Town Planner and has a passion for urban environments that are healthy happy well connected and sustainable. She believes that a community is only as strong as the people who choose to build it and she wants to be someone who builds The Grove district into a resilient community.

I had a talk with Leonie and she is interested in local security and Neighbourhood Watch for Keperra. I suggested she might like to look through the Security Forum which has quite a lot of stuff on it. And that if she is interested she could pick up and work with the members who are currently in the Security Subgroup. There are currently 10 of us including Sheila Siggins who is the Area Coordinator of Ferny Grove Neighbourhood Watch (Area 10) and John and I are Block Coordinators in that Area too. This can be done directly through the Groups Tab.

The real need at this stage of the Transition The Grove’s development is for people to start exploring how they can take a more active role. The best way to start getting involved is slowly in gradual steps. Pick a territory! Like the Security Subgroup. Start taking an interest in the issues. Read up on some of them. Work out how to use the Groups Tab to contact the other members in the Subgroup. Only take it at a pace you can handle. [Local happens organically at its own pace. Be comfortable.] If they are in a Subgroup it is because they have already identified that is a topic they are interested in. So you have somewhere to start finding common ground. Remember we are all locals all part of this community. The sooner we get to know each other and work together the sooner we will be building a future here together and having fun.
