Adding events to the website Events calendar

Please if you know of local events happening within The Grove suburbs of Upper Kedron Ferny Grove Ferny Hills Arana Hills or Keperra/Grovely do add the details to the Events calendar on the website. Check first that it is not already on the calendar.

If you are adding an on-going event such as a group or class that meets regularly (weekly monthly at a set time) only enter it for the first date and then select the recurring button. It will then crop up on the next date after the current date is past.

If there is a local Venue in The Grove or a Category of Event that you want added send an email to administrator@transitionthegrove.org.au  and it will be done.

Do let people know to keep an eye on the Events calendar as a local place to look for what is one times dates venues. Encourage them to join if they are local and also use the website as a place to let people know what is on. Remember there is no charge but it is about community building and letting people know what is on not for marketing.

Sharing details of an event

You can always share details of an event by having it open on the webpage then clicking on the Share This button. You can share by email to Twitter Facebook or a whole lot of other social networking sites. It is an easy way to let people know about an event.

Health Subgroup

A think tank I am part of is holding its regular fortnightly meeting at my place on Monday 14th. We will be discussing health planning for a tightly-defined local community requiring low external inputs. Let me know if you are interested in the topic.

Warm regards

Dear {usertag:name}

The proposal for a community garden site at the back of the park on Kedron Brook Rd just below Strathmere Place is moving close to fruition.

A site plan has been presented to Brisbane City Council and it is now at the stage of a meeting with residents living next to the site.

If you are interested in being part of a community garden we strongly encourage you to come along. There will not be unlimited numbers of plots and if you want to be part of it you will need to be involved early and join the group.

The meeting with Councillor Andrew Wines and residents of Strathmere Place will be  at the proposed site on the oval just below Strathmere Place from 10am-12 on Sat 19th November.

The Hills District Community Garden Group Inc is coordinating it. This group is a local not-for-profit open to people living in Arana Hills Ferny Hills Ferny Grove Upper Kedron Keperra… There is a small charge to join. If you want to join come along and express your interest at the meeting.
