This e-Newsletter is being sent to the Health Subgroup.

Welcome new member Kristina Craner. Kristina is going to be part of the Health Subgroup.  She works as a Director of Essential Diabetes and she was the organiser of the recent Health & Diabetes Expo in The Gap.

We have several exciting projects coming up that involve local health:

  • The Upper Kedron Brook Valley and the Hills District Project with the Community Health Promotion Team Primary and Community Health Services Metro North Health Service District – to assist this area to work together to find solutions that support the community to live and adopt healthy lifestyles. This is going to be in the nature of a local community health and wellbeing forum to bring together key stakeholders across community government and non-government who have a role in creating supportive healthy lifestyle opportunities to address the issues of overweight and obesity.
  • The Ferny Grove Festival at the Ferny Grove State School where Transition The Grove will have a marquee and Local Health will be featured. Planning for this is now starting.

We are all able to ‘think and act’ into these opportunities to have a local presence and play a part in making the health stakeholders in this community a very effective cooperative network for the health and wellbeing of our community.

Kristina has agreed to take an active part in helping prepare the Local Health presence for Transition The Grove at the Ferny Grove Festival. We’ll be looking for people to come on board and contribute ideas and help on the day.
