Ferny Grove State High School music teachers Stephanie McCaw (Head of instrumental music) and Grantley Sutch (instrumental music teacher) were awarded the [url=http://www.neita.com/]Inspirational Teaching State and Territory Award[/url] in October.
There are 15 Queensland recipients and 11000 nominations nationwide. Parents from the school nominate teachers.
Stephanie McCaw has been at Ferny Grove SHS for 17 years and uses music as a catalyst for giving kids that sense of belonging and social interaction that can lead them on to other areas of learning. Music student numbers have doubled in the last decade.
Student performances at Ferny Grove State High School are outstanding and well worth getting tickets to watch/ hear if you are able to score them. Competition for tickets is fierce! It pays to know a parent in the school and express keen interest in attending. Any concerts are performances not to be missed.
