Our backyard is an explosion of butterflies and dragonflies mating and dancing everywhere. Quite apart from an army of croaking frogs (the Striped Marsh Frogs have laid lots of batches of eggs in the pond).

Not skilled enough at identification to give a list of all the different types of butterflies floating around but there are lots all the time at the moment.

We had the joy of Blue Triangle Swallowtails mating and Orchard Swallowtails mating. The Orchard Swallowtails are very large and love the citrus. The Blue Triangle Swallowtails camphor laurel trees which we have none of.

We also have beautiful pale powder-blue dragonflies mating. There are different types of dragonflies with pale powder-blue abdomens so it is hard to know which they were. (Crocothemis nigrifrons and Orthetrum caledonicum the most likely candidates).
