From what I understand Peter talking about rather than trying to generate large amounts of power locally here in The Grove the more efficient process is for people here locally to invest (financially or through the government) in these highly efficient solar power generators out in areas where the quality of sunlight is extremely high. This is then used to offset the power we use locally here.

Buying solar panels for our own roofs is hardly a carbon-efficient process at all although I am hoping that the auction of panels that were waterlogged in the floods results in panels becoming available very cheaply.
