Recognising Our Unsung Heroes
Carers are often the people in our community who are overlooked
when it comes to public recognition. Queensland presently has
around half a million people who provide care for a family member or
friend on either a part-time or full-time basis. Their work is quiet and
done with love and dedication. Last year the Minister for Disability
Services Curtis Pitt launched the . As[url=http://www.communities.qld.gov.au/disability/support-and-services/carers/support-for-carers/carer-action-plan-2011-2014]Queensland Carer Action Plan 2011 – 2014[/url]part of that plan people can tell the many and varied stories of
Queensland carers. The Bligh Government has set up the Carer
Tribute Gallery where people can share the stories of Queensland’s
