Moreton Bay Regional Council has some rules about parking you might like to keep in mind.

Police can fine you $40 for parking on or over a footpath reserve (we might need to clarify what a footpath reserve is).

Is this a MBRC regulation or a Police (QLD Government) law?

Homeowners are also asked to keep plants next to footpaths trimmed so pedestrians can stay safely on footpaths when they walk.

In MBRC the town plan currently requires the average home to retain 3 off-street car parking spaces to reduce any need for footpath parking.

Battersby’s Bulletin NO 73. November 2010 is the source for this information.

It would be good to have more clarification of what ‘3 off-street car parking spaces’ means. Is that how many cars we could park in the drive and under carports or in garages or in sheds on our properties?
