It’s all very well Coles and Woolworths being the dominant players in our food supply but we need to know what other sources of food are available especially ones that are locally produced.
The people who have fruit and vegetable stalls at the Ferny Grove Markets are a good example. It would be good to know where they source their stuff from. How local is it?
Is there anyone producing food locally in The Grove? Local bakeries are preparing and cooking bread and pastries on site. Where does their flour come from? What about local restaurants and cafes?
The people who sell vege seedlings at the Ferny Grove Markets are local (from Keperra) which is great.
The farms in Upper Kedron still have cows.
A man around the corner from us sometimes has fresh eggs for sale from his chooks.
