Transition involves practical work.
Early on there is planning meetings and a lot to work out. There is the important step of identifying and linking hands with all the existing community groups and organisations in The Grove so that are efforts are combined and multiplied.
As the transition progresses there will be projects to plan and arrange funding and materials and to implement. A community garden might be one of the early projects to get established. There will be many others.
As oil prices rise inexorably and we are possibly faced with some abrupt transitions our access to labour saving energy and vehicles and tools and materials is expected to reduce. The manual component of our work is likely to steadily increase. Manual practical skills will become extremely important.
