Would you be able to help review your local park playground and picnic ground facilities. If we all take note when we are out and about and pool the information it can be easy and fun and come up with good informatio.
There are 2 aspects to record:
Exactly what facilities are provided
Condition of the facilities (excellent good dilapidated dirty)
The facilities to make a record of are:
Public toilets (are they open or locked also; what about disabled access)
Picnic shelters
Lighting
Parking
Music bowls
Tables and seating
Benches for seating
BBQs (in useable order)
Children’s play equipment
Basketball hoops
Cricket practice nets
Large grassed areas
Fenced in dog off-leash areas
Drinking fountains (do they have a separate tap for filling water bottles; for dogs to drink)
Rubbish bins
Look-out facilities (platforms viewing)
Signs telling about local features and wildlife
Walking / cycling tracks
Skatebowls
Tennis hit-up walls
Close to public transport
Water features (lake brook …)
If you are able to spare some time either make a note and bring it along to a meeting sometime or send it through directly using the Contact Us email link on the website and it can be added straight in. Or put it on the Facilities Forum on the website (it can be pooled together and tidied up later).
