According to the Australian BOM [url=http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/current/soihtm1.shtml]table of raw data[/url] the Southern Oscillation Index has been substantially positive for 11 of the past 12 months.
Search the table back to 1876 and you’d be hard pressed to find any similar period of such consistently high values. Changing climate?
