We are advertised to. There is a vast psychology of seduction and entanglement to inveigle us into desire.
With each desire we commit ourselves our time our effort our money our life to the process of obtaining experiencing and often storing maybe eventually disposing of the desired.
Our desire translates into other desires for the ability to acquire the means to obtain our desires.
Finally down the chain for the government to build more freeways so the traffic jams move faster on our way to the job to earn the money to pay the mortgage on our desire.
Until ultimately we desire to be free of the chains of desire.
In the meantime desire drives a vast engine of consumption powered by the work of those who desire.
