NAPLAN tests Years 3 5 and 7 on Reading Writing Spelling Grammar & Punctuation and Numeracy.
They provide comparison results for schools serving children from statistically similar backgrounds and for all schools and results for each year can also be compared with the previous years to see if there is an improvement.
In 2009 Ferny Hills State School got a lot of Below Average results compared with schools serving children from statistical similar backgrounds.

The outstanding result is the movement from Below Average to Average for all Year 7 competencies and for both Year 3 competencies that were Below Average in 2009. The results were much poorer for Year 5 with all Below Average results in 2009 still Below Average in 2010 and the one Average result in 2009 declining to Below Average in 2010.
