Spent the whole day yesterday treating the upstairs only of our house for mould and it was startling.

I used about 2 bucketsful of ‘stuff’ per room and each bucket came away black with mould dust wiping over all the wooden furniture.

Today we are going downstairs which is where it is really bad.

We have also opened all the doors and windows wide. It has been a big lesson in why people in Queensland have their windows wide open in summer. It is not to cool the house – in fact it makes it warmer if the temperature outside is warmer than inside. It is to circulate the air to stop mould. Mould doesn’t like circulating air.

The method we have been using to treat the mould is:

Bucket about 1/4 full of water. A jug full of silver colloid. A touch of detergent. Wipe with a microfibre cloth. Very effective.
