Transition Towns like Transition The Grove Inc work with the existing organisations service clubsschools sports clubs churches social & cultural clubslibraries emergency services men’s sheds health services transport servicesmedia  businesses and professionals and elected representatives in local communities.

We also cooperate closely with neighbouring Transition Towns in The Gap Mitchelton/Enoggera and elsewhere in Brisbane and we are part of the Brisbane Transition Hub and the worldwide Transition Network.

In our version of the world local organisations are the most important. They give this place life and resources and make it where we want to live.

Partnering with Transition The Grove Inc involves:

  • a member of your organisation joining as a member of Transition The Grove Inc and selecting up to 8 interest groups
  • adding your events to the Community Calendar so others can be aware of them
  • having a link for your organisation on the Community Forum
  • checking your details on the Community Directory ensuring they are correct & up-to-date and providing more details to add as appropriate
  • providing constructive input and feedback on things you think would improve the website or you would like to have if possible
  • being available to plan cooperative projects if they arise
  • having links to each other’s websites (we get good ratings on Google so this should raise your ratings too)
  • considering how local resilience building can be included as an aspect of your current activities.

For our part we are working to create ways for you to communicatte easily locally and promote what you do.

  • the Community Directory is a comprehensive listing of local services and resources that is available to put your details and links to your website in free of charge
  • the Community Calendar is for events in the area to make it easy for people to live more locally find local classes and hobbies follow local sports teams join local churches participate in local culture. It is designed to build an awareness of the richness and variety of what is available in this area
  • through the interest groups you are put in touch with our members who share these interests helping you to get new involvement and projects off the ground
  • we can help show you how you can list your organisation in multiple ways on the Community Forums and how regular postings also increase your visibility locally. You can use this as a Forum for your members by encouraging them also to join. The postings give you visibility in the community to attract new members if that is what you want.
  • we can do interviews on the Transition The Grove Hour on local radio
  • we aim for some active participation in local organisations and have members in many local organisations – unfortunately it is only possible to some degree.

We want to work together to give us all the best chance for the future. Help us make Transition The Grove Inc work effectively as a true network of local organisations in this area.
