The Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE is the first educational organisation in Australia to be carbon neutral! This major environmental milestone was acknowledged last week by Deputy Prime Minister Wayne Swan at a ceremony in Mooloolaba with local high school students and representatives from TAFE council and the community. Certification is performed on behalf of the Australian Government as part of its [url=http://www.lowcarbonaustralia.com.au/]Carbon Neutral Program[/url]. To gain accreditation environmentally sustainable changes were made to the Nambour Mooloolaba Maroochydore and Noosa campuses. The changes included reducing landfill waste by one quarter adapting air conditioning and maintenance services installing energy efficient lighting and adding two hybrid vehicles to the institute’s fleet.
