A confidential (oil leak!) German military report warned of a potential economic crisis with the advent of Peak Oil. Peak Oil is when production can no longer meet demand and the cost of pumping the remaining oil out of the ground becomes very expensive and technically difficult.
The German military report concludes that there is ‘some probabilty that Peak Oil will occur around 2010 and the impact on security is expected to be felt 15 to 30 years later.’
