Biography

* Claire Moore has been a Senator for Queensland since 2001.
* Born in Toowomba she studied at the University of Queensland and the University of Southern Queensland.
* She then entered the Public Service predominantly working in the Department of Social Services.
* In 1994 Claire was elected Branch Secretary of the Community and Public Service Union a position she held until her election to the Senate in 2001.
* She has always played an active role in community groups such as Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation (ANTAR) and was a founding member of both the Australian Workers Heritage Centre and Emily’s List.
* Her interests include women’s history coffee cricket Australian and Irish folk music detective fiction and art galleries.
