The number of local laws in Moreton Bay Regional Council is being streamlined from 60 to 6. The new laws take views of residents into account.

They cover keeping animals parking overgrown allotments use of public spaces and rules for outdoor dining for restaurants and cafes.

One aim is for them to be easier to understand while protecting lifestyle and environment.

They are open for comment for 6 weeks at www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au from 25 October to 5 December 2010

You will find an online feedback portal fact sheets and local laws there.

Alternatively you can visit Arana Library to access the online feedback portal there. Or you can phone Council on 3205 0555 to speak with a Local Laws Project Officer.
