“Are You Sure There’s No Body There?” by Ian Hornby is currently running at St Matthew’s Church Hall (last night tomorrow night!)

You have to be quick for The Hills Players performances. It was on last Friday and Saturday nights and again this Friday and Saturday. Tonight they played to a packed house.

Director Margaret Reid has clearly had fun with this play. Not a serious moment in it. Detective Sergeant Fickey put in a commanding performance as a low-IQ forgetful but likeable cop. Mabel (The Maid) played by new member to The Hills Players Lorelle Edwards putting in her first appearance was most effective. Smalls the Butler (Peter Carmichael – President of The Hills Players)was every inch poker-backed and Sir Malcolm Simpson-Squire (John Daniells) was his usual fun lusting after WPC Eve Nunnall (Anna Stiller) while Inspector Diane Sides (Eliza Morawska) and Lady Amelia Simpson-Squire (Eleanor Hayden) were of more sensible stuff. But who was the woman in the chair (Val Morgan) knitting the longest piece of wool?

The Backstage Crew also work hard to make the show go on:

Joanne Prove was Stage Manager Margaret Reid also did the Set Design (as well as directing) Alan Fuhlbohm did Sound Jeffrey Himstedt did Lighting Elodie Boal did Publicity Program & Posters and Front of House was Janet Yarnold Ann Johnston Veronica Witham Kay Himstedt Fay Fuhlbohm Sylvia Smith and Elodie Boal.

During Interval there is ample tea and coffee and biscuits and a raffle is drawn.

Ample parking on the road outside the hall.
