We had a talk today about how local community can be about issues and a vision but it pretty quickly becomes about real people with real lives.
They become friends but more than that each individual life turns out to be a whole huge world in itself. Each person has their concerns the things that matter to them commitments on their time needs abilities they wish to contribute.
Getting to know the people relating caring about them and their needs changes the whole focus and it changes us too. It is not community as an abstract concept. It is community in the flesh and feelings and spirit.
