Crime rates in the Metropolitan North police region have fallen:

Armed robbery down 21%
Property offences down 21%
Unlawful entry to shops down 20%
Home break-ins down 5%
Overall sexual assault down[/ul]
Reporting of rape and attempted rape increased. This could be attributed in part to more people reporting incidencts especially historical cases. The police encourage all community members to report such incidents to the police with the confidence that their complaint will be fully investigated.
The number of assaults on police is alarmingly high and is a concern with officers injured while working to keep the community safe.
