Queensland’s Yearbook supplies historical data on the number of people living in the different suburbs of QLD. This comes from Census data and other sources.

The suburbs of Ferny Grove and Keperra first appeared in the Census data in 1976. Ferny Grove had 874 residents and Keperra had 6628. Ferny Hills Arana Hills and Upper Kedron did not rate a mention.

Ferny Hills makes an entrance in 1986 with 7949 residents and Arana Hills with 4922.

In 1986 22593 people were living in these suburbs.

This grew steadily to 28543 in 2001 then the rate of increase to the 2006 Census flattened out a bit.

When the 2011 Census results come out they will probably show the rate has increased again.
