Thought I should do some cooking this afternoon to make sure I had a supply of nutritious high-density food for hubby if he gets called out to the State Emergency Service for long hours.

So made a big batch of biscuits. Here is the recipe.

3 cups of rolled oats
1 cup plain flour
1 cup coconut
1 cup sugar
1 cup melted butter
cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup sultanas
1/2 cup molasses

Mix well together. Add a bit of water and oil to moisten it to a biscuit-mix consistency. Spread on oven paper on an oven tray with a good edge to it. Bake for 15-20 minutes at about 180 degrees. Keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t burn.
While cooling cut it up into squares.
