[u]Taking neck and shoulders for a vigorous walk[/u]
Sit on a chair or stand.
“Walk” shoulders vigorously moving one shoulder forward and the other back in turn.
How balanced is the movement on each side?
Are both shoulders moving in a smooth back and forward motion or is there any sideways motion?
Get them moving evening and smoothly.
What is happening in the neck?
Now let the muscles down the sides of the body join in the walk.
Now let the muscles in the belly join in the walk.
Swing elbows into the walk. (It is ok to hold on to a table in front to give stability.)
Now add buttocks and knees into the walk.
Are knees moving back and forward or is there some side-to-side movement?
Keep returning to pay attention to shoulders and neck. Are they still walking vigorously and evening.
Now stop moving the buttocks and legs but keep walking the shoulders and upper part of the body paying attention to the neck.
