Hi. Great question.

This is not a definitive (complete) answer but hopefully will give some leads:

The local churches all have things for children and if you are so inclined you would definitely meet other parents with young children there.

Twinkles Playgroup meets at The Hills Uniting Church in the hall downstairs on Tuesday mornings 9:30am. Kellie Templeman 3851 4477

The Arana Library is excellent for children’s activities right down to little children.

Not sure if it is happening right at the moment but the PCYC has activities for little children.

I think they had a play gym happening at The Hills District Community Centre in Dawson Parade.

The North West Community Health Centre in Keperra has some parenting classes where you’d also meet parents and be able to form bonds.

Some of the local parks with better quality children’s play equipment are popular with mums at times like mornings. Leslie Patrick Park in Dawson Parade Arana Hills George Wilmore Park on Ferny Way in Ferny Hills and the Upper Kedron Park on Upper Kedron Rd.

If it is still meeting there is a playgroup that meets in Silvertop Park –
Save the Children Mobile Playgroup. Free weekly playgroup for families with children 0-5 years. Activities and a healthy snack for the children. Every Friday afternoon during school term. Starting Term 3 (23 July 2010) from 12:30pm-2:30pm Silvertop Park (UBD Map 138 B5) between Silvertop Street and Coachwood St near Keperra Train Station. There are a whole lot of kindergartens and childcare centres and playgroups which absorb a lot of the children especially of working parents.

Some of our members are parents with young children – it would be great if some of them would respond to this question too.

Please add feedback about what you find and if you find any of this information is out of date it would help to know that too. Thanks.
