NAPLAN tests Years 3 5 and 7 on Reading Writing Spelling Grammar & Punctuation and Numeracy.

They provide comparison results for schools serving children from statistically similar backgrounds and for all schools and results for each year can also be compared with the previous years to see if there is an improvement.

In 2009 Ferny Grove State School got a lot of Below Average results compared with schools serving children from statistical similar backgrounds.

Has this changed? Has it improved?

Well in a few cases there has been some improvement in results but mostly they are actually worse. In one case much worse (going from Average to Substantially Below Average).

Year 3 Writing stayed at Below Average with a slight improvement.
Year 3 Spelling stayed at Below Average with a slight worsening. NEEDS ATTENTION
Year 3 Grammar & Punctuation stayed at Below Average with a slight worsening. NEEDS ATTENTION
Year 3 Numeracy is the ALARM result going from Average to Substatially Below Average. DEFINITELY NEEDS URGENT ATTENTION

Year 5 Reading stayed at Below Average with a slight worsening. NEEDS ATTENTION
