Thoroughly enjoyed the performance tonight. Great energy. Lots of themes explored. School performances have the luxury of lots of performers. So many contributions.

A sharp reminder of the different times of life different energy and physical fitness. What a short and precious time youth is.

This must be a wonderful part of life for the student performers working together like this. To be able to have so many explorations and experiences together in the safety of the school environment. It is great that our young people have this chance.

Could we turn this into a lifelong learning process in our community? Something that is available for adults beyond the age of school as well as children at school? Our community tends to be a cultural and experiental desert for adults after the rich opportunities for children.

Where will they go after Year 12? After so much bonding and working together? How do we preserve some of that locally rather than have it drain out of our community to elsewhere? These young people are setting out to make their lives. How do we ask them to make their lives here to know the value of here when the glamour of the whole world beckons them?

Some will come back when they buy homes to have a family. The suburbs are a good place for it. Many will be gone forever.
