St William’s Family Groups are celebrating their 24th anniversary. What a contribution they have made within the church community. Sixteen groups across the two parishes (St William’s and Our Lady of Dolours) speak of rich experiences of mutual care and social interaction. They put a human face and touch to the church’s professed beliefs in community and service to one another. They embody the quiet initiatives of shared meals care for the sick and hurt picking up lives broken by death loss and grief. They surround each other with a background of care joy laughter compassion commitment and mutual support without being instrusive demanding or an imposition. They are the extended family that enlarges the gifts of the domestic cell.

They have organisation of course and that demands committed servant leadership. Rich thanks go to each group’s Leader couple/team and particularly to the dual team of co-ordinators Jim and Sue Graham and Brendan and Maree Carlin at St Williams.
