The survey by Family First polls all candidates in the QLD election on their positions on various issues that Christians might think important.

They advise: The survey allocates scores indicating the strength of agreement with the question – yes definitely probably unsure unlikely definitely not or no comment. Family First Katter’s Australian Party and One Nation parties all received a top score of 100 for answering “yes definitely” to all ten questions.

On the opposite side of the divide were the Queensland Greens who scored 31.

The Greens disagreed with Family First’s stand on most issues except for the upper house – but their answers were clear. They didn’t waffle.

In marked contrast was Campbell Newman. He replied on behalf of all Liberal National Party candidates – who were apparently told they could not send individual replies. Family First says: Mr Newman deserves a degree in waffling since many of his answers were long-winded and evasive. His score – 54 – was a disappointing bare pass. Sadly it does not adequately reflect the views of some others in his party.

And the Bligh Labor government? They didn’t waffle – so far they haven’t replied at all despite many promises from their headquarters over the last week implying that “the cheque is in the mail”.

In the meantime Family First has assigned temporary scores to Labor based on their policies while in government.
