The Weekend Australian 7-8 Aug had a great article (Health Section page 8 Surgery successful but the sex needs help by Lynette Hoffman).

Every year in Australia about 20000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer the second most common cancer after skin cancer. Survival rates are high (95% in cases where it is caught early and is still localised) but there are costs: anxiety depression incontinence or loss of bladder control sexual problems especially erectile dysfunction.

Rehabilitation has not received enough focus. It needs to start early and continue for quite some time.

Pelvic floor training started before the operation and continued after have improved incontinence rates.
