Not only is the gas flare system at Bunya Tip that is burning off 200 cubic metres/hour of potentially destructive methane a major environmental step in the right direction.

It may well also turn out to be a source of local energy all produced from the gas that bubbles off local waste as it composts. The system is going through a trial period measuring gas flows actually produced and if they are enough a 0.3 megawatt generator will be installed to make our own Green and renewable power.
