Brisbane City Council’s Enoggera Ward office is right down the other end of a long electorate in Alderley. This end of the electorate has a long struggle to avoid invisibility to Brisbane City Council.

That makes the next Brisbane City Council election more interesting for us locally because a candidate has been pre-selected who lives in Ferny Grove. His name is Matt Siggins and he is the ALP candidate.

Getting candidates who live locally in The Grove is an important step in the bigger picture of ensuring that council rates deliver services right here locally where we need them and that our elected members are regularly seen among us talking and listening to local concerns and needs and responding.

Whether we vote according to political party or policies having candidates who are local is a step forward.
