Anna Bligh celebrated her 3rd anniversary as Premier by planning how her Government could tackle some major issues over the next 18 months.

Her climate change initiative was restricted to delivering solar rebates.

She had no initiatives targeting reduced dependence on imported oil supplies.

She did included ‘facilitating new industries like LNG’. This industry (the coal seam gas industry on the Darling Downs) is now threatening the Darling Downs rich soils and food bowl and the Great Artesian Basin water supply through the use of fracking technology. A lot of people are very concerned about it and the potential to destroy our best farmlands.
