A cantata it is explained is ‘music that’s meant to be sung’.

The cantata we hear today is “Heaven and Earth Rejoice” by Marty Parkes.

The Hills Uniting Church Choir performing today is a 28 voice choir conducted by Judy Scholes with pianist Joyce Skelton.

They practice each Monday evening throughout the year and it certainly showed in the performance.

Great singing. A stream of known songs that were great listening – some with the whole choir some soloists. Excellent acoustics in the church.

A pleasure to be there and very uplifting.

As they sang: “Give thanks with a grateful heart…”

The Choir had sung the Cantata to the residents of Keperra Sanctuary.
