If population growth is inevitable then best it occur around existing infrastructure – transport medical retail and other services. Arguably Mitchelton would need improved services to cater for the new arrivals but it seems far better to ‘go up’ than ‘go out’ – carving up more land thus reducing bushland areas. The urban village seems to be a sustainable model.
