DO-IT-YOURSELF COMMUNITIES
1 to 5pm Sat 21 May /
Meeting Room 1b State Library at Ideas Festival
Sustainable change is enabled by collective
effort. Teams of volunteers are more often
than not made up of friends and family;
like minded supporters of our projects
and passions. We are inspired to make a
difference together. In this two part workshop
social innovator Alissa Phillips will introduce
tools and ideas for working in what are
known as Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Communities.
Drawing on her experience with her own
community s.p.a.c.e Alissa unpacks DIY
Communities to equip young people with
the skills to lead their own team projects and
build the community they want to live in. This
workshop is presented in proud partnership
with the Department of Communities.
