Moreton Bay Regional Council is doing great work on recycling and reducing landfill.

The Council has invested $150000 to improve the Bunya Landfill Site’s drop-off waste sorting facilities.

A sealed all-weather drop-off and sorting system will be operating by December. There will be a drop pit with designated areas for paint batteries green waste timber and steel.

Staff will be instructed to oversee the drop-off area to sort and remove any items still in working condition or which can be fixed and reused.

This is definitely good news.

What will happen to salvaged materials? How will they be made available for reuse?
